Summer BBQ – Friday 30th June 2017

Published: by

A lovely evening was enjoyed by all who attended, and we raised around £3,200.00 at this year’s Summer BBQ.

The weather wasn’t on our side during the day, so we decided to put a majority of the stalls inside the school.

We had the usual favourites of Adult and Kids tombola, Lucky Bags, Beat the Goalie and Coconut Shy, as well as Hook-a-Duck, glitter tattoos and Henna hand art.

Luckily the sky cleared by 6pm, meaning Go Kart party Shropshire and X Strike Nerf Arena were able to set up on the bottom playground and on the field, as well as Robbie Jones with a mixture of live music and entertainment on the top playground.

The Year 6 games in the demountable classrooms were as usual extremely creative, and we’d like to thank them for all their hard work. Once again, they produced record breaking takings. Thanks too to Miss Forbes and Miss Linnell for supervising.

Many thanks to everyone who helped on the night — teachers, parents, pupils, friends.

Thanks also to the businesses who donated prizes for the raffle.

All your support really does make a difference to our events.

Silver Smarties fundraiser

Published: by

As a fun way to raise funds over the Easter holidays, Parents and Friends of Radbrook Primary School invited all children and their families to participate in our ‘Silver Smarties’ fundraiser challenge.

Each child was given a tube full of Smarties during the last week of term before the Easter holidays and asked to complete tasks/chores/activities to earn 20p per activity from friends and family, to turn chocolate smarties into Silver Smarties!

Ideas included:

  • Making cakes
  • Hoovering, tidying up toys or laying the table for dinner
  • Getting a sponge and some washing up liquid and charging 20p to wash a car
  • Making ice-pops and sell them to friends
  • Opening a pop-up beauty spa for friends, charging for nail varnish or hair styling
  • Inviting friends over to have a game of football

With the help of friends and family, the children were encouraged to be as imaginative as they liked with their fundraising ideas.

The children worked really hard, and a total of £921.17 was raised!
